One of the many Fairview Heights Parks
Kinsella Log Cabin
The log house once belonged to the Kinsella family; William Kinsella built the house around 1850 after he emigrated to America in 1840 from Ireland. n 1973 the City of Fairview Heights purchased the Pleasant Ridge farm for a nature park. As part of the Bi-Centennial Celebration in 1976, a committee was formed to restore the unique two-story log cabin in its original form. The city hopes to someday open the Kinsella Log Cabin to the public by possibly turning it into a museum.
